GARDENS KILL KANCER

FRANKIE LEE AND FRIENDS, SAM CASSIDY, THE PERSON & THE PEOPLE, (PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS TBA IN THE CLOWN LOUNGE) WILL HELP KILL KANCER IN SUPPLYING FRESH VEGGIES TO OUR NEIGBORS WITHOUT ACCESS OR MEANS
Cancer is the #1 cause of death in Minnesota and you can reduce your risk of death by cancer by 90% by not smoking, improving diet, increasing physical activity and by getting regular exams. Four simple strategies can reduce your risk if death by cancer by 90%; we like those odds.
Mindful that location and socioeconomic status can impede one’s ability to achieve health goals. Kill Kancer provides plants and seeds for community gardens.
Kill Kancer provides the necessary funding for two city lots of green goodness. In conjunction with North Country Food Alliance we put community-oriented gardens in working class neighborhoods. These gardens allow people to learn how to grow their own healthy food and provides a source for fresh healthy food that supplements the dinner table. We build gardens and hand them off to be owned by the community and then we build another. This spring we’ll be breaking ground on an empty lot on James Avenue North for a new garden project while still working on our new garden projects we started last year in Saint Paul’s North End Neighborhood.
